Greetings from Afghanistan.
As this is my first post as a new blogger, I will introduce myself. I am major Larry J. Croucher and I currently reside at Camp Eggers, Afghanistan. Camp Eggers is home to the Combined Security Transition Command/Nato Training Mission - Afghanistan. That is a big title, but in general, our organization playsa key role in the training and development of Afghan security forces, focusing on training and mentoring of the Afghan National Army and Police, along with various governmental agencies.
I have been here for two weeks now and have pretty much adjusted to the new environment. I serve as the Security Assistance Training Officer. My postion deals with the process of selecting and sending Afghan soldiers and government leaders to US military schools. It is quite an interesting process and it has been enjoyable thus far to work with our Afghan partners.
My family is back home in Utah. I have a beautiful wife of 10 years and two beautiful daughters (7 years old and 2 months old). Thankfully, Camp Eggers has the resources necessary to maintain contact with them on a daily basis.
I look forward to providing information on life here in Camp Eggers and will enjoy sharing stories of our efforts here.
MAJ Croucher
