Army War College

April 15, 2010 | Colonel Jonas Vogelhut

Recently, I was selected to attend the Army War College in Carlisle, PA. What a great organization. This college prepares selected military, civilian, and international leaders for the responsibilities of strategic leadership in a joint, interagency, intergovernmental and multinational environment. I know the Alumni of this great school have taken many supreme leadership positions throughout the globe, including President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Chiefs of various other country militaries, and many leaders in corporate America. Historically, the U.S. Army War College website states the college “was conceived by Secretary of War Elihu Root -- Not to promote war but to preserve peace by intelligent and adequate preparation to repel aggression."

It is a tremendous program to teach future leaders the delicate balance of military, economic, and political power, and define and debate critical national security. I look forward to the opportunity.
