Surprise! My husband is already home! I'm sure there were a few different random reasons for this, but, bottom line, he's back, in Georgia, and it's time for another adjustment.
Long distance relationships are never easy, and every location has its own unique challenges, but I think this one is harder than just having him deployed. Not only are we paying two rents, trying to decide if I need to buy a car right now while I'm living in downtown Baltimore, and trying to make our Army and school schedules match up, we're also debating how often we can justify/afford to fly back and forth between Maryland and Georgia.
In addition, it's time to reconsider all the career options right now. While I'm pretty set (3 years of law school, then at least six years in the JAG Corps), it's time for him to consider getting out, or stay in with the possibility of transfering branches or applying for medical school.
In other news, my little brother Sam is in Basic Training at Fort Benning! I'm sure he's having lots of fun. Also, yesterday, I finished the Half Full Triathlon here in Maryland, which was a full .9 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run. I don't think I've ever pushed myself as far as I did to get through that. Because when life seems too easy, why not throw in an extra challenge ;)
