I lost 100lbs to join the National Guard

November 13, 2013 | Specialist Angela Stevens

This comparison was 5lbs ago but I am proud to say that I worked hard and have now lost 100lbs. One of my biggest motivators to lose the weight was to join the Army National Guard but I knew time was running out due to my age. I am 34 years old, a mother 4 and was able to join the ARNG on Oct. 11th, 2013 with just 8 months to spare before my 35th birthday! I just finished my first RSP drill this last weekend (Nov 9-10) and will be shipping to Basic Jan 7th!

Hi Katie! I lost it with P90X, T25 and Shakeology. I also did a little Combat and some other programs like Hip Hop Abs (mostly to help break up boredom). More than just a product or program though, I changed my lifestyle - I try to stay away from processed foods and follow more of a clean-eating lifestyle. No crazy diets or anything, just sensible eating and exercise. I still eat things I enjoy, just in moderation. The weight loss happened gradually over time and it took me a while to learn so I lost the same 60 lbs a couple times before it stuck. Since January of this last year though I have lost 60lbs and kept it off. But my highest weight was 285, as shown in the picture. The last 25 pounds are being quite stubborn but I'm sure Basic will take care of the rest ;)
